Information on Water and Wells
Water in Pinon Ridge Estates is obtained by individual wells. Each lot comes with a pre-purchased "base-unit" issued
by the Upper Arkansas Water Conservancy District ("UAWCD"), a quasi-governmental authority that has purchased and
administers water rights in the Upper Arkansas River Valley.
A "base-unit" allows one to take water for in-house use and for watering up to 1,400 square feet outside. Additional
water may be purchased from UAWCD for other uses, i.e. horses. The link below is a November, 2001 UAWCD handout on "base-units."

Three wells have been sunk in Pinon Ridge Estates, two in Pinon Ridge West (Lots 1 and 8) and one in Pinon Ridge East (Lot
3).
All three wells have produced excellent flows at depths of 250' to 400', drilled through relatively soft material. There
has been no need for "hard rock" drilling.
Lot 1 in Pinon Ridge Estates West produced 20 gallons per minute ("gpm") at a depth of 283'. Lot 8 in Pinon
Ridge Estates West produced 15 gpm at a depth of 251'. Lot 3 in Pinon Ridge Estates East produced 8 gpm at a depth of 390',
although water was first struck at 290'.
